About India NPIM

India NPIM was established in February 1998 by Ministry of Water Resources, Govt. of India as a non-profit organization, registered under Societies Registration Act 1860 in Delhi with a mission to promote Participatory Irrigation Management (PIM) in the Country through efforts outside the government system. The other aims and objects are :
 
(i) to create databank related to PIM and disseminate ideas & information on the subject in the country and abroad
 
(ii) to provide a platform for exchange of experiences and know-how through organizing conferences ,seminars, training courses, field visits and publications
 
(iii) to help and cooperate with International Network on PIM (INPIM) and international bodies with a view to promoting lawful activities of PIM
 
(iv) to undertake evaluation and monitoring including process documentation to help in better implementation of PIM
 
(v) to take up various PIM related studies
 
(vi) to support research oriented action for promoting PIM.
 
Any individual or institution involved in research, training and implementation of activities related to promotion of PIM and formation of Water Users’ Associations and improving irrigation utilization and / or who has interest in irrigated agriculture can become member of India NPIM.
